Victory Temple Full Gospel Church held its first service in the spring of 1971 with 13 people in attendance. The Lord had given a vision to Rev. Walker Toney to lead this flock, and though it was small, that is exactly what he intended to do. In 1975, Victory Temple Evangelistic Assoc. was incorporated, now with an average of 50 people in attendance at the little church on Fairview Rd. in Marion, NC. With the fulfillment of the vision taking place, Rev. Toney stepped out by faith and purchased 10 acres of land and began construction of the building that now stands as a beacon to the community. On June 28, 2004, Walker and Helen Toney resigned the pastorate after 34 years of service at Victory Temple. They continue their 50+ years of serving the Lord, by preaching, counseling, and performing weddings and funerals. They are still an active part of the body at VTC. The torch was passed to Rev. Pete and Carole McCombs, both of whom had been long time members of the church. Then in 2009, with membership at an all-time high, it was time to knock out a wall and make an expansion to the church. This was done, along with some renovation in the sanctuary. The church could now hold an additional 100 people. The church continues to grow physically and spiritually under the leadership of Rev. McCombs. We continue, with God's help, to serve the community, county, state, country and some 3rd world countries. God is using us as His hands and feet to reach out to prepare the world for His coming.
